WHAT IS THE CHINA SPA ASSOCIATION?

The China Spa Association is a non-profit organization, established to develop and promote the spa, health & aesthetics industries in China. Members will enjoy a wide range of benefits, including educational seminars & workshops, newsletters & industry updates, regular member meetings & events, and the opportunity to network with spa & wellness professionals from China and other international spa organizations.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote and protect the Spa industry and its consumers, by establishing standards for staffing, training, Spa set-up, Spa operation, and product and equipment supply.
  2. To develop the industry and enhance its professionalism through education and training, and the sharing of ideas and information between members.
  3. To encourage membership and active participation by every size and kind of Spa, and entities engaged in supplying goods or services to the spa industry.
  4. To provide a network for spa professionals within China, and also to establish and maintain affiliation and co-operation with other spa organizations globally.

OUR STAFF

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Position Description
Chairman Responsible for overall management of the association.
Vice-Chairman Stands in for the President when not available, and provides support to other committees as required.
Secretary Responsible for official communications, maintaining minutes, etc.
Treasurer Responsible for the bank account and proper use of membership fees.
Membership Responsible for recruiting and maintaining members in the association.
Events Responsible for creating the programme of association activities, eg: monthly meetings, talks, workshops, etc.
Marketing & PR Responsible for promoting the association and its activities to local media and potential members. Includes managing the websites.
Finance Raises funds for association activities, eg: sponsorship, events.
Education Responsible for arranging educational opportunities, eg: training and seminars for therapists or management
Standards & Practices Responsible for activities that help to improve professionalism, eg: work with APSWC accreditation team.
Government Liaison (optional) Responsible for working with government departments to improve relationship between government and spa industry. Can also help to obtain grants, set licensing requirements, etc.
APSWC Representative
(Asia-Pacific SPA & Wellness Council)
Links the association to APSWC by passing information and implementing APSWC actions. This role can be specialist, or another board member can double in theis role.
Board of Advisors Medias, heads of other associations, government departments, etc.
